The Step Forward Center works with several community partners and providers locally and statewide to ensure that there is equal access to services to ensure continuity in care for all children and their families. The Step Forward Center will assist those partners with coordinating services, to ensure that services are in one place to provide that speciality experience for your child's needs!
The Step Forward Center accepts children (ages 3-5 or kindergarten entrance) who qualify for special education related services under Child Development Services (CDS) and local school districts (SAUs).
Required Enrollment Forms / Documents to Submit
To enroll in services, please email us or call 207-827-7270 to get started. You may need to provide an enrollment packet and the following:

• Your child's referral(s) (CDS, Doctors, Professionals, Etc.)
• A Completed Psychological Evaluation (ABAS, Batelle, Bayley, etc.) or Developmental Evaluation
• Release of Information Form Signed
• Copy of Immunization / Medical Records

Need help navigating the different service options in our program and through state agencies? We know how daunting and stressful of a process it can be, and we are happy to help! We can walk you through the referral process for each child we serve.
Important Things To Know
Enrollment may take a few weeks to occur due to state processing timeframes. To reduce the wait time, please have all referrals and past evaluations (if any) ready to submit. In addition, continue to follow-up with us and your case manager (if you know them directly) to speed up the process of filing the referral and necessary intake paperwork.
